Who We Are

The Treasure Valley Southern Baptist Association is a ministry cooperative between Southern Baptist churches in southwestern Idaho. These thirty churches have banded together in order to accomplish ministry objectives that no one would be able to achieve by itself.

The four TVSBA ministry teams are:

Momentum Camps – Ministering to students in grades 3-12, we have both a youth camp (grades 7-12) and a kids' camp (grades 3-6).

Church Health—Coordinating events such as retreats and seminars that encourage healthy churches, providing resources, and encouraging our churches' staffs are some of the goals of the church health team.  Self-check materials are also available, to analyze your own church's health.

Church Planting and Evangelism Training (CPET)—The association is presently helping three mission works financially, as well as providing encouragement in new works and to mission pastors.

Church Leadership—Classes are available through Idaho Baptist College, in cooperation with the Southern Baptist Convention Seminary Extension program.  More ideas are being explored by the church leadership team to expand this ministry.

Our association also participates in some separate ministries with financial or hands-on assistance.

Disaster Relief– Helping meet the needs of those affected by disaster.

Levanta Ministries—A ministry of Pierce Park Baptist Church, which has a ministry targeted at victims of domestic violence in Costa Rica.  The association voted to support this work with $10,000 in start-up money at the 2019 annual meeting.

Foundation College Ministries—Working with college students in the greater Treasure Valley area, with emphasis on the college campuses of Boise State University and College of Western Idaho.  Several of the TVSBA churches assist in providing free meals, act on the advisory board, and in other ways enable this ministry.  Contact Morgan Brendle.

Between the Annual Meeting of the Churches and the daily involvement of the members are:

  • The Executive Board Meetings – A representative group from the churches that tends to the oversight of the operations and finances of the TVSBA, in meetings twice a year.  This board is made up of the pastor and two messengers from each member church, plus the pastor and one member of each mission church.
  • The Annual Meeting is held once per year, on the first Saturday in October.  According to the TVSBA constitutional guidelines, churches have voting rights based on their membership.  See the constitution for more information.
  • The Administrative Team (commonly known as the A-Team) – An elected body that tends to the monthly operations and oversees the work of the various ministry teams.
  • The Ministry Teams – Work teams made up of church members with interest and energy in specific ministries.
